Tempting
Life in a small South Jersey town can drive you a bit batty. Andy, a female
art student, has a love affair with her art teacher Diana, and wrestles with regrets about breaking up Diana's marriage
by civil union. Andy's mother, Immaculata, rehearses scripture readings for Mass in which the church won't let her participate.
Joe, Andy's father, spends his time helping out the town's widows with household chores ("among other things" Immaculata speculates).
An erotic art project forces a conflict between church and family and ignites a firestorm the likes of which they've never
seen.
Tempting was featured in the Philadelphia Theatre Workshop Playshop
Festival, a staged reading festival, at Walnut Street Theatre Studio 5 from June 8 - 17, 2007.
